Personal details
- Name: full name as the family uses it; add “Dr.” or “CA” if relevant.
- Date of birth: the full date; the age is added automatically.
- Height: feet and inches with cm — “5 ft 4 in (163 cm)”.
- Marital status: Never married, Divorced, Widowed or Awaiting divorce.
- Religion, caste, sub-caste: as your family writes them.
- Mother tongue and diet: Vegetarian, Non-vegetarian, Eggetarian, Jain food or Vegan.
Horoscope details (if used)
Time and place of birth, rashi, nakshatra, gotra and manglik status. Not sure about them? See kundli details explained.
Education and career
Highest degree first, with the college: “MBA (Finance), B.Com. (Hons.) — Delhi University; IMT Ghaziabad”. Then the job title, type of employer and city: “Senior Analyst, a private bank, Mumbai”. Income is optional.
Family details
Father’s and mother’s names with Shri/Smt. or Mr./Mrs., their occupations (or “Retired …”, “Homemaker”), each brother and sister with marital status and work, the mama’s name and city, family type (nuclear or joint) and native place.

What not to write
- Long paragraphs — they are rarely read.
- Anything you would not want forwarded to strangers (full home address in public groups, ID numbers).
- Exaggerations; families verify, and honesty builds trust.
