Hindu marriage biodata format

A Hindu biodata usually opens with a blessing such as “॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥”, then gives personal details, the horoscope (kundli) details families use for matching, education and work, and the family. BiodataBhasha arranges all of this for you, in your language.

Hindu biodata: questions

Which symbol should a Hindu biodata have?

Most families use the Kalash (for Shri Ganesh) with “॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥”. Om and Swastik are also common. You can also type your own top line, for example the name of your kuldevi or kuldevta.

Is it necessary to give kundli details?

No. Many families ask for the time and place of birth so they can make a kundli themselves. If your family does not follow horoscope matching, simply leave those fields empty or hide them.

What should I write for manglik?

Choose “No”, “Yes”, “Partial (anshik)” or “Don’t know”. If you are not sure, ask your family’s pandit; it is better to write “Don’t know” than to guess.

Where do I find my rashi and nakshatra?

They come from your janam kundli (birth chart). If you do not have one, a pandit can make it from your date, time and place of birth. Our naam se rashi tool shows the rashi of a name’s first letter, which is different from the birth rashi.
