Privacy policy

Short version: without an account, your biodata and photo stay on your phone. With an account, they are stored so only you can see them, and you can delete everything yourself at any time.
A biodata holds personal details — photo, date of birth, family, religion and caste, phone number, address. We follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: we collect only what is needed to give you the service, use it only for that, and let you see, correct and erase it.
1. Without an account
- Your biodata is saved in your browser’s storage on your device, so it is there when you come back. We do not receive it.
- Photo editing, background removal, reading an old biodata (OCR) and making the PDF or picture all happen on your device. Your photo is not uploaded.
- When you first read an old biodata, the reading model for that language (about 1–2 MB) is downloaded from the jsDelivr CDN. Only the model is downloaded; your picture is not sent anywhere.
- The site saves its own files on your device so it opens quickly and works offline. This holds no personal information.
2. With an account (optional)
- What we store: your email address (and the name Google shares, if you use Google login); the biodatas you save, including their photo; the share and family links you create.
- Why: only to let you log in, keep your biodatas, open them on another phone, and share them the way you choose.
- Your consent: you give it by creating an account and by choosing to save, share or make a family link. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting a biodata, turning a link off or deleting your account.
- Who can see it: database rules make each biodata readable only by its owner. A share link shows the biodata to people who have the link (with your password and expiry, if you set them). If you hide contact details, phone, email and address stay hidden until you approve that family. A family edit link lets anyone with it view and edit that one biodata until you turn it off.
- “Interested” messages: when a family taps “Interested” on your link, we store the name, contact and message they send, so you can see and answer them.
- Login session: after login, a session token is kept in your browser’s storage. This is not a tracking cookie.
3. About other people in your biodata
A biodata usually names parents, brothers and sisters, and gives family phone numbers. Please add details of others only with their knowledge, and share the biodata only with families you choose.
4. How long we keep data
- Saved biodatas, links and interests stay until you delete them or delete your account.
- When you delete your account, everything linked to it is removed from our database at once. Copies in our providers’ routine backups are overwritten after a short time.
- A share link stops working at its expiry date or when you turn it off.
5. Your rights
- See and correct: open the “मेरे / Mine” tab to see everything saved, and edit it any time.
- Erase: delete a single biodata, or your whole account, yourself from the same tab.
- Ask us: for a summary of your data, help with any of the above, or a complaint, email ${EMAIL} from the address you log in with. We aim to reply within 7 days.
- Nominate: you may name someone who can use these rights for you if you die or cannot act; write to us.
- If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
6. Services we use
- Cloudflare hosts the website, counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics (no cookies, nothing stored on your device, no tracking across websites) and may process technical data such as IP addresses to keep the site secure.
- Supabase stores account data (only if you log in), on servers in Mumbai, India.
- Google handles “Continue with Google” login, if you choose it.
- Brevo sends the login code emails.
- jsDelivr (a free public CDN) serves the OCR language models, only when you use “Fill from photo”.
We do not sell your data. BiodataBhasha itself sets no tracking cookies; visit counts are anonymous and only tell us which pages are useful.
7. Ads (Google AdSense)
To keep BiodataBhasha free, some article and free-tool pages may show ads from Google AdSense. There are never ads in the biodata maker, on your biodata or its PDF, or on share and family links, and the details you write in your biodata are never given to advertisers.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can turn off personalised ads in Google My Ad Center, and opt out of other vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info.
- How Google uses information from sites that show its ads: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for their consent before ads use cookies.
8. Children
BiodataBhasha is for adults preparing marriage biodatas, and for their families. Please do not make a biodata for anyone under 18.
9. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. Questions or requests: [email protected].
